As a fellow city resident, I do not have to tell you that the current state of the City of Albany is troubling. From ever increasing property taxes, to preferential treatment for the politically connected and the current “Bullseye Sticker” scandal, city residents have had enough.
We have seen our neighbors pick up and move out of the City of Albany. We have seen crime, especially violent crime, enter into family neighborhoods. We have seen city services and programs that assist our elderly, our children and our families eliminated. People are tired of this downward spiral. I want to return our city to sound financial footing so that taxpayers are no longer overburdened and can keep more of their hard-earned money. That is why I am running for Albany City Treasurer, and that is why I need your support on Election Day, November 3rd 2009.
My platform is simple. We need to bring competency, integrity and independence back to the Albany City Treasurer’s office. We need to restore trust in city government and instill confidence in our residents that every penny generated from tax revenues is collected fairly and equitably, and most importantly, invested wisely.
As an Attorney, my background and experience working in the financial industry will have an immediate and positive impact in the City Treasurer’s office. I have a proven track record and will ensure that every tax dollar is properly collected and invested wisely.
November 3rd is not that far away, and I hope that with your support, we can make a real difference in how our City Treasurer’s office operates. Please join me in my fight to take back our city government.
